There are ethical Lenormand readers, ones who do not try to scam someone when that person is searching for help. These scam artists ruin the reputations of many professional, ethical  Lenormand readers. These ethical Lenormand readers want to make a positive difference in people’s lives.
An ethical Lenormand reader is someone who cares for the well-being of his/her client, sets clear boundaries, and has structures in place like a code of ethics and a confidentiality statement. These ethical readers empower their clients to think about their options and make decisions for themselves. They encourage clients to seek help from doctors, therapists, and lawyers. They do not charge to remove bad energy or curses.
Follow this guideline to be an ethical Lenormand reader.
  1. Stick to what you know- do not give medical, legal or financial advice, if you are not licensed. Read the cards and then determine how to best help your client. This could mean referring him or her to a licensed professional.
  2. Protect your client’s confidentiality- You may become privy to certain intimate details of your client’s private life. Treat this information with the utmost respect and do not share this information without your client’s permission. Store their information securely and only use the info for the reading. It is highly recommended to have a Privacy and Confidentiality statement for your business. This will show your clients that their privacy is extremely important.
  3. Be truthful and forthright- Tell your client everything you see in the cards, even if it is negative. Treat your client with compassion and respect. Make sure your client has a clear understanding of the current state of events and how to best move towards their desired outcome.
  4. Be open minded and do not judge- Leave your personal opinions and judgements behind and do your reading with objectivity. Since your client is trusting you with personal information, you need to offer impartial advice and guidance.
  5. Tell your clients to look inward- If you have a client that comes to you over and over again on the same topic, tell him or her to trust his or her intuition and to go within to determine what to do. As an ethical Lenormand reader, you can instill confidence in your client to trust himself or herself. You are a guide but it is up to your client to determine his or her future path.
  6. Do not try to upsell your client with dodgy products or services- Do not do a reading with a requirement to buy a fake product or service such as a spell to clear negative energy or to remove a curse. However, if you are a talented spell-crafter, do it in a way that is professional and do not scare your client into doing what is suggested.
  7. Be a guide and let your client determine what to do- Your role is one of a coach and guide so let your client maintain free will and the responsibility of choosing his or her own path.
  8. Have a code of ethics and stick to it!- Your code of ethics protects you, your clients and the Lenormand community as a whole. In your code of ethics, include your position on readings for minors and third parties, what topics you will and will not read on, treatment of your clients, client confidentiality, and free will and empowering your client. Remember you are serving the best interests of your clients; this is established by creating personal boundaries that honor both the needs of you and your clients.
