Engaging in astral travel or astral projection basically means becoming ultra-self-aware, so that your astral body can separate from your physical one. The result: you’ll be able to explore other physical and astral realms. However, this takes practice. Here are some steps that can help you towards this goal.
Do not eat right before bed, no late night snacking. You want to have an empty stomach to give you a lightness. This helps with lucid dreaming and Astral Travel.
Concentrate on your breathing, focusing on breathing slowly and deeply. When other thoughts intrude, bring your focus back to your breath, the feeling of oxygen entering your nose, windpipe and lungs, and the sound of your breathing as you inhale and exhale. This relaxed breathing will allow you to eventually feel a bit odd, like your physical body is disconnected from your mind. That’s what you’re going for. You may even feel like your physical body no longer exists. Allow this feeling to occur without getting anxious.
Once this happens, you may feel your body begin to vibrate. Focus on this, allowing it to occur without becoming stressed out by this sensation. Let the vibrating sensation fill your mind so that nothing else exists. Don’t analyze the sensation. Try to remain still rather than fidgeting or getting up from your relaxed sitting or reclining position.
Imagine that you are moving around even though you are not. That can mean, for example, visualizing that your hand is closing and opening while you continue your relaxed breathing. Your eyes are closed but in your mind, you should strive to clearly see your hand and its movement. Try visualizing a string hanging over your head and your hand attached to your astral body reaching to grab this. When you’re able to do this, feel your astral body stand up. Perhaps try to walk over to a bookcase to explore a title that you hadn’t thought about in a while, or examine a neglected object on a table. Once you’ve done this, think that you are back in your physical body. Once you’re back in your physical body, verify if you read the correct book title or if you can identify features of the object you saw with your astral body.
The more you practice this the better you will get. It’s quite interesting.
